PANDEMICS OF THE PAST
As the world moved to a place of unknown and places began to shut down in March of 2020 due to the new and novel Coronavirus pandemic, it became clear to Her Ladyship that action must be taken to support and provide for the community. Lady Kimberly developed a new and innovate project entitled Pandemics of the Past which provided desserts, baked goods, and full meals throughout the month of April with inspiration themed to previous pandemics . These special treats were created and provided by Royal Pointe Hall free of charge to all essential workers, specifically those in the medical and distribution fields, as well as to anyone in the community who recently had lost their job due to the virus. Supporters could purchase treats or donate to the cause assisting during an unprecedented time.
By providing meals that were tied with historical context to previous pandemics, Royal Pointe Hall was able to educate and inform members of the community on the potential dangers COVID-19 can have. This effort also encouraged persons to follow all health and safety protocols and reminded people the importance of wearing masks.
During this four week campaign, Pandemics of the Past covered The Spanish Flu, Cholera, The Bubonic Plague, and Yellow Fever. Attached to each item was a tag that gave grim facts about each illness. Bon Appétit!
